Feeder Cattle Narrative Report for 02/23/2015

Estimated Receipts: 4,000     Last Monday: 5,689     Year Ago Monday: 10,592

Compared to last week: Feeder steers traded mostly 2.00 to 7.00 lower. Feeder heifers sharply lower on a light test. Not enough calves for a market trend. Frigid temperatures and snow have moved into the state which has caused many producers to hold off selling this week. Snow on the roads has hindered travel especially in the western part of the state toward the feedlots. Buyers demand for cattle with favorable flesh conditions remains very good.
