Joplin Regional Stockyards - Close Feeder Cattle Auction for 03/02/15

Compared to last week, steers under 650 lbs and heifers (all weights) unevenly steady with the exception of a load of 950 weight heifers sharply higher, steers 650 to 900 lbs 2.00 to 4.00 higher, Demand moderate to good, supply light. Inclement weather has hampered movement of cattle to the livestock market. A warm-up then more snow and cold temperatures. The feeder supply included 62 percent steers, 32 percent heifers, 06 percent bulls, with 66 percent over 600 lbs.

   
Feeder Steers: Medium and Large 1 pkg 313 lbs thin 365.00, pkg 348 lbs 330.00; 400-450 lbs 282.50-315.00, 450-500 lbs 270.00-275.00; 500-600 lbs 240.00-282.00; 625-700 lbs 220.00-239.00, calves 211.00-223.00; 700-800 lbs 206.00-221.00, pkg 735 lbs calves 200.00; 860-870 lbs 190.00-192.00. Medium and Large 1-2 500-600 lbs 232.00-243.00; 600-655 lbs 224.00-236.00; 700-760 lbs 202.00-212.00; pkg 922 lbs 172.00.
