Combines Roll in Southern and Central Oklahoma, Minor Sprout Damage Here is the latest Oklahoma wheat harvest report for June 5, 2015 provided by the Oklahoma Wheat Commission.

Wheat harvest continues to move forward in Southern and Central Oklahoma, with a few reports of combines moving as far north as Bison. We have had some lower test weights reported in South Central Oklahoma but overall the quality of the crop that has been reported so far continues to be favorable. We have had some minor sprout damage reported in the central part of the state and producers in Southern and Central Oklahoma are hopeful to make a large dent in the crop this weekend before the predicted rains come on Monday and Tuesday of next week.

Grandfield- Test weights in this area still reported to be making 58 lbs.-59 lbs. per bushel. We did have some reports of test weight on a couple loads of wheat in this location weighing 61lbs. to 62 lbs. per bushel. Some minor sprout damage on wheat that received hail was reported in this region but it was on two truck-loads that had 1% to 2% damage.

Frederick- Harvest is progressing fast in this region with about 30 percent of the crop reported being harvested. Test weights have ranged all over the area with a few lighter weights coming in at 53 lbs. per bushel. The average for this region would be 58 lbs. per bushel, with some weights reported to be as high as 62 lbs. per bushel. Proteins in the area have been ranging from 10.5% to 11.8%. Sprout samples were sent to the grain exchange this past week and everything so far has been reported clean, except one load and it had less than 1% sprout damage. Last year, one of the elevators in this region took in 300,000 bushels. So far with 30 percent of the crop taken in they have taken in 210,000 bushels. Yield in this region are being reported as low as 15 to as high as 50 bushels per acre.

Lawton- One load has been taken into this location with the hopes that harvest will get moving in this region over the weekend. The first load taken into this location weighed 56 lbs. per bushel with a moisture of 12.1%.

Altus- One elevator location in this region has already taken in over 325,000 bushels. The test weights are averaging 58 lbs. to 59 lbs. per bushel with some test weights in the region reported to be as high as 63 lbs. per bushel. Yield reported to be as low as in the 20's to as high as the 40's. No sprout damage has been reported.

Apache- One load has been taken into this region with nothing reported on test weight or moisture.   They are planning for harvest in this area to get rolling this afternoon.

Clinton- This area is just getting a good start, with 9000 bushels taken in yesterday. Test weights are running from 57 lbs. to 60 lbs. per bushel. Yields are reported to be making
anywhere from 20 bushels per acre to 35 bushels per acre. No sprout damage has been seen in this area so far.

Sentinel and Rocky- One load has been taken in at the Rocky location with a test weight of 55 lbs. per bushel. They are hoping harvest will get rolling in this region over the weekend. Okarche, Kingfisher Omega- Wheat harvest is continuing to move into this region with test weights being reported on average at 59 lbs. to 60 lbs. per bushel. We continue to see minimal sprout damage on the wheat in some areas of this region.   They have had some test weights reported as high as 63 lbs. per bushel with yields reported to be ranging mostly from mid 30's to mid 40's.

Bison- One load of wheat has been hauled into this location with not enough data to reported test weights and yield. This region has not fully ripened and producers are hoping they will be able to get into the fields in most places of this area by Sunday.
