Feeder Cattle Narrative Report for 06/15/2015

Estimated Receipts: 8,000   Last Monday: 12,331   Year Ago Monday: 7,428

Compared to last week: Feeder steers traded mostly steady to 3.00 higher with the exception of 600-700 lb steers which were 4.00 to 6.00 lower. Feeder heifers traded steady, with 600-700 lb heifers 4.00 to 5.00 lower. Steer and heifer calves too lightly tested for a market trend. Demand was moderate, with plain to average quality. Rain showers returned to the state this weekend, and rain is in the forecast throughout the rest of the week. This will once again delay the wheat harvest. According to the Oklahoma Wheat Commission, wheat harvest is estimated to be 85% complete in Southern Oklahoma, 45% complete in Central Oklahoma, and only 10% complete in Northern Oklahoma.
