Feeder Cattle Narrative Report for 06/17/2015

Receipts: 5787    Last Week: 12670    Year Ago: 5043

Compared to last week: Feeder steers sold 2.00 to 4.00 higher. Feeder heifers mostly 2.00 to 3.00 lower, with cattle over 800 lbs trading steady. No trend available again for steer and heifer calves due to light offerings from last week but a low undertone was noted. Tropical Storm Bill is expected to hit Central and Eastern Oklahoma this evening bringing upwards of 6-10 inches to the already saturated area. Flash flooding is a major concern. Demand was moderate for heifers and good for steers. Quality was mostly plain to attractive. Receipts this week totaled 77 percent over 600 lbs and 39 percent heifers.
