Feeder Cattle Narrative Report for 07/20/2015

Actual Receipts: 4,501   Last Monday: 6,546   Year Ago Monday: 4,892

Compared to last week: Feeder steers and heifers traded weak to 5.00 lower. Steer and heifer calves mostly 2.00 to 5.00 lower on comparable sales. Temperatures are forecasted to rise into the upper 90's and 100's this week, which has once again caused buyers to remain hesitant in buying un-weaned calves. Hot temperatures and high humidity has also limited cattle movement in the country due to heat stress. Demand was moderate to good. Supply included 68 percent over 600 lbs and 35 percent heifers.
