Feeder Cattle Narrative Report for 08/17/2015

   

Estimated Receipts: 6,200   Last Monday: 4,695   Year Ago Monday: 4,691

Compared to last week: Feeder steers 1.00-5.00 lower. Feeder heifers sold steady in a limited test. Steer and heifer calves sold steady to 5.00 lower. Demand for yearlings and weaned calves remains good. Demand for un-weaned calves remains limited, as a cold front is forecasted to bring rain and drop temperatures by 20 degrees on Wednesday and then warm back up to the upper 80's by Friday.

   
Feeder Steers: Medium and Large 1: Calves: 325-400 lbs 325.00-360.00; 400-450 lbs 289.00-305.00, thin fleshed 319.75; 450-500 lbs 269.00-285.00; 500-550 lbs 250.00-261.00; 550-600 lbs 238.00-255.00; 600-625 lbs 228.00-234.00; 700-725 lbs 209.00-213.50; Yearlings: 600-625 lbs 236.00-244.00; 650-700 lbs 220.00-233.00; 700-750 lbs 218.00-228.00; 750-800 lbs 210.00-219.00; 800-900 lbs 202.25-213.50; load 905 lbs 202.50.
