OCA Seeking Consignments for Replacement Heifer Sale on Oct. 29

Tue, 01 Sep 2015 10:15:09 CDT

OCA Seeking Consignments for Replacement Heifer Sale on Oct. 29 The Oklahoma Cattlemen's Association is currently seeking consignments for their Fall Cattle Drive Replacement Female Sale. The sale is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 29 at the Oklahoma Beef Incorporated Bull Test Facility 8 miles west of Stillwater, Okla. on Highway 51.

This is the 16th year for the OCA to host the Fall Cattle Drive. This event started as most OCA events do, to offer a service to OCA members.

"While many of our producers raise tremendous purebred cattle and breeding stock, the Fall Cattle Drive is primarily to market quality commercial cattle," stated Charlie Swanson, OCA President. "This special auction is not a production sale for large commercial ranches, but rather a tool for OCA members to showcase the improvements they have made in their commercial cattle and help them earn a premium for their hard work," continued Swanson.

If you would like to consign cattle to the OCA Fall Cattle Drive, you can download a consignment form at http://www.okcattlemen.org/ocafallcattledrive.aspx or call the OCA office at 405-235-4391. You must be an OCA member to consign cattle to the sale. OCA membership is not required to buy or bid on cattle.

"This year, the OCA Fall Cattle Drive is held in conjunction with the OBI Fall Bull Sale and the OCA quarterly board of director's meeting", Swanson said. The OCA Board meeting starts at 9 a.m., lunch is served at 11 a.m. , the OBI Bull sale will start at noon immediately followed by the OCA Fall Cattle Drive.

The OCA represents more than 5,500 Oklahoma ranching families. The OCA exists to support and defend the state and nation's beef cattle industry. The OCA officers, board of directors and membership encourages you to join us in our advocacy efforts to ensure less government intervention, lower taxes and a better bottom line. For more information about OCA membership or activities call 405-235-4391 or visit www.okcattlemen.org.
