McCoy, Beebe, Drummond Outfits Share Champion Honors at Cattlemen's Range Round-Up

McCoy, Beebe, Drummond Outfits Share Champion Honors at Cattlemen's Range Round-Up The dust was flying at the Lazy E Arena last Saturday evening during the final performance of the Oklahoma Cattlemen's Association's (OCA) 32nd Annual Range Round-Up. For the second year in a row, there was a tie for Champion team honors. Congratulations to Beebe Livestock and McCoy Ranch team and Drummond Land and Cattle on their win!

McCoy Ranch and Beebe Livestock are both located in Ada, Okla. While they are separate operations, they joined labor forces many years back. Both ranches hold a common interest in ranching, cattle, horses, roping and running a successful operation.

Drummond Land and Cattle's headquarters is in Pawhuska, Okla. and is a partnership between Chuck, Tim and Ladd Drummond.   Tim and Ladd are the fourth generation to ranch in Osage County with the fifth generation waiting on the wings. Tim serves as the Range Round-Up Committee Chairman.

The OCA Range Round-Up features twelve teams of 'real ranch' cowboys from Oklahoma ranches.

"We like to call the event, 'Cowboys Helping Kids'," said Tim Drummond. 2016 is the 20th year that the selected charity has been the Children's Hospital Foundation and in that time, the OCA has donated more than $420,000.00.

"We take a lot of pride in this event and we appreciate the ranches, sponsors, fans, volunteers and trade show vendors who help us with this important mission."

At the conclusion of two performances, Range Round-Up event standings were as follows. Saddle Bronc Riding: 1st- Hall Ranch/Daube Cattle Company; 2nd- Stierwalt Ranch; 3rd place - Stuart Ranch tied with Buford Ranches, LLC. Stray Gathering: 1st - Alfalfa Land and Cattle; 2nd Hall Ranch/Double Cattle Company; 3rd - Drummond Land and Cattle. Wild Cow Milking: 1st - McCoy Ranch/Beebe Livestock; 2nd - Kelly Ranch; 3rd - Whitemire Ranch. Team Branding: 1st -McCoy Ranch/Beebe Livestock; 2nd - Whitemire Ranch; 3rd - Hall Ranch/Daube Cattle Company. Team Penning: 1st - Lazy Rafter Slash Ranch; 2nd - Hall Ranch/Daube Cattle Company; 3rd - Kelly Ranch.

"We participate because we enjoy the comradery. I also love the opportunity to educate and entertain the general public by showcasing some real ranch activities," said Jet McCoy, team member of the McCoy/Beebe team.   "When you add in the fact that a large portion of the proceeds are given to charity, it makes the event very worthwhile."

Shad Beebe, representing the McCoy Ranch & Beebe Livestock Ranch Team, rode the horse that was selected for the Top Horse Award and the AQHA Top Horse Award. TJ Davis, a member of the Whitmire Ranch team was recognized at Top Hand. The Tuff Hand award went to Dylan Squires of the Stierwalt Ranch.

Oklahoma Ford Dealers have been the presenting sponsor of Range Round-Up since the beginning of the event, in 1985. The OCA credits much of the event's success to the Oklahoma Ford Dealers.

Many other generous sponsors help offset cost of the event in turn increasing the amount of money that the Range Round-Up can give to charity. These sponsors include: Priefert Ranch Equipment, Edmond Convention & Visitors Bureau/Edmond - Chamber, Little Joe's, American Farmers and Ranchers, Baker Vet Supply, Box Inc., Merck Animal Health, Oklahoma Farm Bureau, BancFirst, Oklahoma National Stockyards, Campbell Bits & Spurs, National Livestock Credit Corp, Trae Gray, BCr8tive Designs LLC, 3C Feeders, Livingston Machinery, Buffalo Feeders, Farm Credit of Western OK, Mid America Feeds, Triangle Serum Co., Stillwater Milling, Farm Credit of Oklahoma, Hargrove Ranch Insurance, Rabo AgriFinance, Elanco, OKC West Livestock Auction, Zoetis and Merial.
