Oklahoma Cattlemen's Association Commends Senators for Their Initiative in Helping Out ProducersTue, 13 Feb 2018 17:17:08 CST
Oklahoma Cattlemen's Association Executive Vice President Michael Kelsey released the following statement after the National Cattlemen's Beef Association announced the introduction of a bipartisan bill in the US Senate that would protect farmers and ranchers from mandatory emissions reporting under the Superfund laws.
"OCA is very thankful to the bi-partisan group of twenty senators, including Oklahoma Senator Inhofe, introducing this important legislation. Congress never intended manure to be under the original Superfund legislation. Oklahoma Beef Cattle farmers and ranchers care above all for the land, cattle and natural resources. This important legislation recognizes their continued stewardship efforts without unwarranted government burdens."
