This is day two with Dr. Mike Apley, Veterinarian and Professor at Kansas State University, as he explains the challenges of keeping antibiotics in place to use in animal agriculture. Many activists, regulators, human medical professionals and even lawmakers have called for the end of the use of antibiotics in animals that are used in treating infection and disease in humans.
Dr. Apley argues that we need antibiotic options to be left in place for treatment in animal agriculture- and says that this conversation will intensify in the days to come.
