Junior Cattlemen Encouraged to Participate in 33rd Annual OJCA Summer Preview Show this Summer

Junior Cattlemen Encouraged to Participate in 33rd Annual OJCA Summer Preview Show this Summer The Oklahoma Junior Cattlemen's Association (OJCA) invites junior cattlemen from across the state to attend the 33rd Annual Summer Preview Show, May 31-June 2 at the Payne County Fairgrounds in Stillwater, Okla.

"The Preview Show has a long-standing reputation as a relaxed, family friendly summer show. That still holds true, but there many other opportunities for young cattlemen to learn, grow, connect with fellow junior cattlemen and ultimately equip students for future educational and career success," said Tiffani Pruitt, OJCA Coordinator.

In addition to a steer and heifer show, the three-day, family event features the along with competitions in showmanship, livestock judging, public speaking, quiz bowl and a special event known as 'cow camp'.   Additionally, a fun evening of barnyard Olympics is sure to be a hit.

According to OJCA President, Madeyln Gerken, "These events allow young cattlemen, like myself, to cultivate leadership skills, grow personally, challenge themselves and exhibit their cattle while spending time with fellow junior cattlemen from around the state. This show is unique from others because it is coordinated and carried out by junior cattlemen for junior cattlemen and really gives the member of the OJCA Board of Directors an opportunity to step up and help their fellow showmen and friends."

All events are open to Oklahoma students only. OJCA membership is required to participate and may be paid at time of entry. Entry fee for the cattle show is $40 per Head and $10 for Showmanship entry. Rules and additional information is available at http://www.okcattlemen.org/ojca-summer-preview-show-menu.

The OJCA was started in 1985 to further the education and cooperation of young people interested in cattle, and to aid in the attainment of mutual goals set by OJCA members interested in all phases of their business and possible career and leadership opportunities. For more information about OJCA membership or activities call 405-235-4391 or visit www.okcattlemen.org.
