Noble Research Institute Hosts Advanced Beef Quality Workshop at the Oswalt Ranch Next MonthTue, 24 Apr 2018 12:47:00 CDT
Noble Research Institute consultants are taking Beef Quality Assurance to the ranch as part of an Advanced Beef Quality Assurance Workshop from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday, May 14, at the Noble Research Institute Oswalt Ranch, located at 18414 Dixon Road in Marietta, Oklahoma.
Workshop participants will get hands-on experience dealing with all the best management practices for calf working and weaning processes, including choosing and administering vaccines and medications. Beef producers looking to improve their best management practices and ensure quality beef products in the food chain should join us.
“Understanding the value and fundamentals of BQA enables producers to help the industry in its effort to maximize consumer confidence,” said Robert Wells, Ph.D., livestock consultant. “As an industry, it is vital that we continue to produce the world’s safest, highest quality beef for consumers, both nationally and internationally.”
Participants will also have the opportunity to learn how to identify proper leg and foot structure for replacement cattle from a nationally recognized cattle judge, Shane Bedwell.
Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) helps guide the daily ranch activities of cattle producers who embrace it. The nationally coordinated, state-implemented program is designed to educate producers on the importance of best management practices, such as vaccination and medicine handling and records, as well as proper nutrition for each stage of production.
The registration fee is $25 and lunch will be provided. For more information or to preregister, please visit www.noble.org/events or call 580-223-5810.
