Langston University to Teach the Tools for Success at 23rd Annual Small Farmers Conference in May

Langston University to Teach the Tools for Success at 23rd Annual Small Farmers Conference in May School of Agriculture and Applied Sciences at Langston University will host its 23rd Small Farmers Conference at the Best Western Plus Saddleback Inn and Conference Center (4300 SW Third St.) in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The conference dates are May 22-24, 2018. Registration can be completed online at http://bit.ly/2EGmwpZ. Onsite registration will be available at 12:00 p.m. on May 22nd and 8:00 a.m. on May 23rd and 24th.


The conference will begin on the afternoon of May 22nd with bus provided field tours to agricultural production and enterprise sites in Langston and Luther, Oklahoma (limited to the first 100 who sign up for the field tours). On May 23rd and 24th, sessions will convene at the Best Western. On May 24th, the conference will only convene for half day. It will adjourn at 12:00 p.m.


The theme of the conference this year is “Tools for Successful Small Farmers and Ranchers.” Concurrent sessions will be conducted in such areas as Alternative Enterprises, Value-Added Enterprises, Nutrition and Wellness, Farm Access, Livestock Management, Marketing, Rural Prosperity and Youth Emphasis in the Agricultural Sciences. The Oklahoma industrial hemp pilot program will also be discussed in full.


Join us as we strengthen collaborations and partnerships among stakeholders and provide opportunities to share new ideas in research, extension and community engagement. Our commitment is to build sustainable farming systems and improve quality of life in our communities.


Registration for the 23rd Small Farmers Conference is FREE. However, participants are required to register.
