Feeder Steers and Heifers Trade Mostly Steady to 2.00 Higher Wednesday at OKC West Livestock OKC West - El Reno, OK

Total Receipts:                  6,009




Compared to last week:   Feeder steers and heifers traded mostly steady to
2.00 higher. Steer and heifer calves sold unevenly steady on a light test with
limited comparable weight ranges. Demand good. Quality plain to average, few
attractive. CME Live Cattle contracts rebounded today to close higher while
Feeder contracts stayed relatively steady. Beef exports continue to see record
high levels while avoiding tariffs other commodities have experienced, keeping
buyers confident during the dog days of Summer. Feeder cattle supply included
62 percent Steers, 37 percent Heifers, and 2 percent Bulls. Feeder cattle
supply over 600 lbs was 79 percent.
