This annual fall workshop, which will be held at the Oklahoma State University-Oklahoma City Student Center, 900 N. Portland Avenue, is proof of the strong interest in organic farming and gardening across the state.

“This conference means Oklahomans don’t have to travel out of the state to receive solid and valid information for their farm or garden,” said Lynn Brandenberger, OSU Cooperative Extension horticulture food crops specialist.

OSU Cooperative Extension and OSU-OKC are partnering with the U.S. Department of Agriculture – Natural Resources Conservation Service and several other organizations to help provide a slate of research-based information during the conference.

Topics on tap for the two-day workshop include tips for progressing from gardener to farmer, cover cropping for organic production, food safety, low-input crops, organic farming experiences and permaculture.

The $60 nonrefundable registration fee covers lunch, refreshments, supplies and other event costs.

To register online and pay with a credit card, visit orangehub.okstate.edu, scroll down to select the “Plant & Soil Sciences” store and click on “Organic Oklahoma Conference.”
