Farmer Co-ops Commend Publication of Final Bioengineered Food Disclosure Rule by USDA

Thu, 20 Dec 2018 12:42:10 CST

Farmer Co-ops Commend Publication of Final Bioengineered Food Disclosure Rule by USDA The National Council of Farmer Cooperatives today applauded the publication of the final rule on the National Bioengineered Food Disclosure Standard (NBFDS) by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS).

“I would like to recognize the hard work and leadership of Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue, Under Secretary Greg Ibach and their staff in seeing implementation of the NBFDS completed in a timely manner,” said Chuck Conner, president and CEO of the NCFC. “This rule gives the public access to more information than ever before on how their food was produced. At the same time, farmers and food producers will have access to the technology needed to provide safe and affordable foods to a growing world population.”
