Friday the Final Day to Pre-Register for the 67th Annual Oklahoma Cattlemen's Convention Next Week
Thu, 11 Jul 2019 14:33:11 CDT
The Oklahoma Cattlemen's Association's (OCA) 67th Annual Convention and Trade Show is scheduled for July 19 and 20.
The last day to pre-register is Friday, July 12. Pre-registration will save participants time and money. However, on-site registration will be available.
The theme of the two-day event is, 'Building Momentum'.
"Member involvement in any organization plays a vital role in momentum," said Weston Givens, President of the OCA. "The annual convention is the largest gathering of cattlemen in the state and is anticipated by many of our members."
In addition to a large, in-door trade show; convention will also include discussion around OCA policy and an OCA General Business meeting. A key element of OCA Convention is the Cattlemen's Educational Series, including four diverse educational sessions on timely topics including: Cattle Market Outlook, Fake Meat, Animal Behavior and an overview of CattleMax, a record keeping database.
"The OCA Learning Lounge is a new feature this year," Givens said. "The Learning Lounge is an area within the trade show set aside for different companies to provide 20-minute introductions to their product or service. There are six Learning Lounge sessions spread over the course of the 2-day event."
U.S. Representative Frank Lucas will keynote the Opening General Session. Other speakers include: Jennifer Houston, National Cattlemen's Beef Association President and Chuck Coffey, Cattlemen's Beef Board. Marty Tipton, 'The Oklahoma Kid' will entertain and inspire participants with a high-energy, humorous, trick roping presentation during the Closing General Session where more than $15,000 in scholarships will be awarded to young cattlemen.
Lieutenant Governor Matt Pinnell will emcee the annual awards banquet. Outstanding cattlemen and their accomplishments will be recognized and celebrated during this first-class banquet.

"Educational opportunities, roaming around in the trade show, visiting with fellow cattlemen and participating in the OCA policy making process are the key reasons I look forward to convention each year," Givens said. "Whether you come for both days or just an afternoon, I invite you to the 67th OCA Convention and Trade Show."
