Superior Livestock Auction’s February 20th Video Auction

Superior Livestock Auction hosted their February 20th Video Auction live from the Embassy Suites in Norman, Oklahoma. Cattle producers offered 36,325 head of calves, yearlings and breeding stock from 24 states for this auction. Cattle were sold on contract to deliver immediately through the end of May 2020. Superior Livestock went live at 7:30am CT with Superior Sunrise and the auction followed at 8am CT. This February 20th Video Auction was broadcast on SLA-TV, Dish Network Ch. 997 and streamed on Superior Livestock Auction's Click To Bid website. Recent rains have stimulated the demand for lighter cattle and heavier feeder cattle found good demand after the recent bump in the market, all of these factors have set the stage for an upwardly trending market report.

Coming off a very strong market two weeks ago, regions 3/4/5/6 feeder steers were steady to $3 higher. Lighter weight heifers from the same regions were steady to $2 lower, while heavier weight heifers were fully steady. Region 1/2 feeder steers and heifers were in high demand and saw an increase of $2. Region 1/2 weaned calves were fully steady. Region 3/4/5/6 weaned calves are gaining traction and being rewarded monetarily as grazing prospects are looking ready for spring. Program cattle returned to their normal premiums bringing $15 to as much as $20 increase over the non-program steers and heifers.
