If you are Headed to Branson, MO Don't miss the JESUS show at the Sight & Sound Theatre

Mon, 01 Aug 2022 10:07:39 CDT

If you are Headed to Branson, MO Don't miss the JESUS show at the Sight & Sound Theatre Farm Director KC Sheperd visited with the Marketing and Consumer Relations Coordinator for the Sight and Sound Theater in Branson, Mo., Stephen Rinard. Rinard talks to KC about the theater’s current production, Jesus, and upcoming shows for guests of all ages.

“Sight and Sound started with a family years ago in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and they built a theater in Branson, Missouri in 2008,” Rinard said. “Now, Sight and Sound is a place that takes timeless stories from the Bible and brings them to life in a spectacular theater experience.”

The theater offers a panoramic 300-foot wrap-around stage, Rinard said, and 2000 seats. He added that it is a three-story-tall set, giving some guests a great birds-ey view of the production.

Rinard said the current production, Jesus, is his favorite one they have performed.

“It is the story of Jesus,” Rinard said. “It is just such a familiar story told in such an unexpected way. You get to see not just Jesus but how he interacted with the everyday people that walked alongside him here on Earth. It is a wonderful show.”

The life of Jesus is shown in the show, Rinard said, not necessarily in chronological order. The exhibition includes the ministry of Jesus and how he impacted those on Earth.

“My favorite story is when he went to gatherings, and he takes the demons out of the man and casts them into the pigs,” Rinard said. “It is such a beautiful scene how he sees you through all the muck and grossness that we are. He sees us and takes us out of that. It is a beautiful scene.”

The cast, Rinard said, consists of around 50 people and many live animals such as camels, dogs, and horses that go into the aisles and on stage during the show.

We have about 50 people in the cast and live animals that go in the aisles and on the stage. We have camels and dogs and pigs and horses.

“We have trainers that help take care of them and train them,” Rinard said. “It is such a fun experience. The other day I was walking out to go home, and a camel was walking on the sidewalk.”

Sight and Sound is for all ages, Rinard said, from two to ninety-two. It is relatable; he added, regardless of what your background or your previous experience with the bible is.

“Somebody could come with their grandparents and still enjoy it, or with their small children and still love the show and have a great experience,” Rinard said.

The production of Jesus will be running until October 8 of this year, Rinard said, then they will feature the next show, Miracle of Christmas, from November 5 to December 31 of this year.

“Next year, we will be doing Queen Esther in 2023 from March 11 through December 30,” Rinard said. The best way to get tickets is to visit the website, www.sight-sound.com, and you will be able to find all of the things you need there, from tickets to merchandise.”
