House Ag Committee Chairman Frank Lucas Talks Post Farm Bill Defeat Strategy With Ron Hays
Wed, 26 Jun 2013 11:34:27 CDT
The Chairman of the House Ag Committee, Oklahoma Congressman Frank Lucas, took a few minutes Wednesday morning, June 26, 2013, to talk with Radio Oklahoma Ag Network Director of Farm Programming Ron Hays about the US House voting down the 2013 Farm Bill last Thursday. As you might well expect- the Chairman expressed disappointment that on that day, on that exact piece of legislation as amended by the full body, there were not 218 votes for passage.
Congressman Lucas and Hays talked about the defeat of the bill, several things that will not work in trying to get new farm policy in position- and some of the things that could work toward the goal of passing the House and getting to a Conference with the Senate to forge final language for a new five year farm bill.
