A Conversation with Colin Woodall, VP of Governmental Relations, NCBA- Talking WOTUS and More
Mon, 28 Jul 2014 06:02:32 CDT
Colin Woodall, VP for Legislative Affairs for the National Cattlemen's Beef Association, was the featured speaker on Saturday morning for the OCA Annual Convention in Midwest City.
In advance of his comments with the cattle producers gathered, Ron Hays talked with Colin about several issues and the audio of that conversation is available by tapping on the Listen Bar below.
The conversation included a look at the current legislative wish list for the NCBA, what might happen in a lame duck session later this year and several key regulatory issues that NCBA is targeting including WOTUS- the Waters of the US Proposed Rule that Woodall called the "largest land grab we have ever seen from the Federal Government."
Woodall and Hays also talked about the NCBA concerns over the rule that might allow Brazil to ship fresh and frozen beef into the US and the ramping up of the latest fight over Dietary Guidelines.
Meanwhile, the NCBA is calling for 10,000 comments regarding WOTUS- hoping that both the quantity as well as the quality of unique comments that they are asking cattle ranchers to submit will be enough to get Gina McCarthy to pull the Waters of the US proposed rule.
