Oklahoma AG Scott Pruitt Endorses Jeb Bush- He Talks with Ron Hays About Federal Overreach
Tue, 29 Sep 2015 16:25:05 CDTOn Tuesday afternoon, Radio Oklahoma Ag Network Farm Director Ron Hays talked with Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt soon after the state's top legal official endorsed former Florida Governor Jeb Bush in his bid to become the GOP nominee for President in 2016. According to a report by Fred Barnes in the Weekly Standard, "Bush has appointed Scott Pruitt, the attorney general of Oklahoma, to head a group to find the best ways to "rebalance" the federal-state relationship. Along with the appointment, Bush got Pruitt's endorsement for president.
"Pruitt, 47, is a major political figure in Oklahoma and a fierce opponent of expanding federal power. He has sued the Obama administration a number of times. He targeted Obamacare in one lawsuit. He has filed suit against the Environmental Protection Agency.
"He is expected to recruit other Republican attorneys general to join his group. It has been Republican AGs who have succeeded in several cases, particularly on environmental issues, against the federal government. They refer to themselves as the "last line of defense" against federal encroachment on state authority."
Hays talked with Pruitt about the endorsement, the Coalition he will lead on behalf of Governor Bush and discussed where litigation now stands against WOTUS- the EPA rule that is now being implemented in 37 states.
Pruitt says the litigation continues- but adds that the best way to beat WOTUS is to elect someone to become the next President who vows to undo the damage done by Barack Obama. Pruitt says he believes that Jeb Bush, on Day One, would start the rule making process to undo WOTUS totally.
