Blame it on El Nino- We Talk Weather With Travis Meyer
Mon, 08 Feb 2010 17:03:11 CST
Travis Meyer is lead Meteorologist for the News on 6, our Griffin Communications TV station for the eastern part of the state, based in Tulsa. Not only does he watch the weather for residents in Green Country, Travis also has a cattle herd- and worries about calving season and the extremely wet conditions we find in most pastures across eastern Oklahoma and over into southeastern Kansas, southwestern Missouri and northwestern Arkansas.
Today's Ag Perspectives Podcast features a conversation we had on Monday with Travis Meyer about what has turned out to be a strong El Nino pattern in the Pacific- and how it has brought storm after storm across the southern plains. Meyer sees no immediate end in sight- and believes that a cold wet winter will turn into a wetter and stormier than normal spring.
Click on the Listen Bar below to hear his take on the current winter weather mix, the highly unusual December outbreak of cold and snowy weather that struck down across the Plains states- and how spring weather patterns may be developing.
Ron Hays talks about the impact of the current El Nino on weather here in Oklahoma with Travis Meyer of the News on 6.
