Bristow Locals Announce the Return of the Fourth Annual Touch-A-Truck Kids Day Event

Local volunteers are pleased to announce the return of a community favorite, the Fourth Annual Touch-A-Truck Kids Day Event. This event takes place August 3, 2024 from 9 a.m. to Noon, with the famous “Quiet Hour” from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at 211 OK-16, Bristow, OK 74010.

After three Touch-A-Truck Kids Day Events, each doubling in size, organizers are moving to a larger parking space with Turner Turnpike visibility. With local truckers bringing touchable trucks and free school supplies to Creek County kids, the tradition is continuing with Kylie Shrewsbury in the driver’s seat. For years the fifteen to thirty-eight big rigs would gather in the Tractor Supply parking lot, but this year they’re pulling up the road to the First Free Will Baptist Church.

With all of this extra space for trucks and more, Miss Kylie has made bigger and better plans for our favorite Truck Show! The 2024 Touch-A-Truck Bristow will host not only trucks, but over twenty vendors, multiple food trucks and trailers with ice cream, lemonade, and snow cones, as well as balloon artists, face painters, free bounce houses, mascots and of course FREE SCHOOL SUPPLIES donated by local Rotarians and community members. There are no registration or eligibility requirements for school supplies, but it is first come first served the day of the event.

The Touch-A-Truck Kids Day Event will welcome local businesses, local first responders, and state departments to show off their “trucks” in this car show-like event. Bristow will welcome over thirty confirmed rigs, alongside our trucker lover vendors. Your family and friends can expect to visit with the Bristow Fire Department, Bristow Police Department, the City of Bristow heavy equipment, PSO, Molly and Socks Christmas Tree Farm, Mounce Trucking Monster Truck, Spirit Bank, and Green Environmental Services. A few new additions this year, other than our new address and skyline visibility, is a sky high “truck” from Route 66 Midpoint Corridor. These local advocates are promoting the best 100 miles of Route 66 between Oklahoma City and Tulsa by bringing their huge hot air balloon. We will welcome new trucks this year like the A&W Paw Patrol truck, golf carts, side-by-sides, and skid steers. The local Boy Scout Troop and Rotary Club will be graciously assisting in the parking of the trucks and gifting school supplies to families. Our local librarians will be hosting a booth with local program information and freebies. TSET Healthy Living, Spirit Bank, Bristow Social Services, Rotary Club, and Creek County Community Partnership are all teaming together to donate school supplies for the Touch-A-Truck Kids Day Event. Corwin Family Dentistry is donating toothbrushes for everyone!

To help our local children with backpacks and basic supplies please make monetary or supplies donations at Spirit Bank in Bristow on Route 66. If you are interested in being a part of this event as a vendor, truck, or sponsor please text or call Kylie Shrewsbury at 918-948-3343 or email us at touchatruckbristow@gmail.com.
