Oklahoma Crops Hold Steady Conditions as Wheat Harvest Wraps Up

U.S. Crop Progress:

Winter wheat harvested reached 54 percent, up 21 percentage points from the previous year and up 15 points from the five-year average. Winter wheat conditions rated 51 percent good to excellent, 34 percent fair and 15 percent poor to very poor. Last week’s conditions rated 52 percent good to excellent, 33 percent fair and 15 percent poor to very poor..

Corn silking reached 11 percent, up 4 percentage points from the previous year and 5 points from the five-year average. Corn conditions rated 67 percent good to excellent, 24 percent fair and 9 percent poor to very poor. Last week’s conditions rated 69 percent good to excellent, 24 percent fair and 7 percent poor to very poor.

Soybeans emerged reached 95 percent, down 5 points from the previous year and up 3 from the five-year average. Soybeans blooming reached 20 percent, no change from the previous year, but up 5 points from the average. Soybean conditions rated 67 percent good to excellent, 25 percent fair and 8 percent poor to very poor. No change from last week’s conditions.

Cotton planted reached 97 percent, down 1 percentage point from the previous year and down 2 points from the five-year average. Cotton squaring reached 43 percent, up 5 points from the previous year and from the average. Cotton setting bolls reached 11 percent, up 2 points from the previous year and from the average. Cotton conditions rated 50 percent good to excellent, 33 percent fair, and 17 percent poor to very poor. Last week’s conditions rated 56 percent good to excellent, 30 percent fair, and 14 percent poor to very poor.

Sorghum planted reached 96 percent, up 6 percentage points from the previous year and up 2 points from the five-year average. Sorghum headed reached 19 percent, down 1 point from the previous year and the five-year average. Sorghum planted reached 95 percent, up 3 points from the previous week and up 24 percentage points from normal. Sorghum conditions rated 52 percent good to excellent, 43 percent fair and 5 percent poor to very poor. Last week’s conditions rated 60 percent good to excellent, 37 percent fair and 3 percent poor to very poor.

Soybeans planted reached 91 percent, up 8 points from the previous week and up 17 points from normal. Soybeans emerged reached 70 percent, up 13 points from the previous week and up 15 points from normal. Winter wheat mature was 98 percent, well ahead of 74 percent last year, and ahead of 85 percent for the five-year average. Harvested was 80 percent, well ahead of 39 percent last year and 49 percent average.

Soybeans planted was 98 percent, near 95 percent both last year and average. Emerged was 90 percent, near 89 percent last year and 88 percent average. Blooming was 7 percent, behind 13 percent last year, and near 10 percent average. Soybean conditions rated 69 percent good to excellent, 27 percent fair, and 4 percent poor to very poor. Last week’s conditions rated 72 percent good to excellent, 24 percent fair and 4 percent poor to very poor.

Sorghum planted was 93 percent, ahead of 84 percent last year, and near 92 percent average. Headed was 1 percent, near 4 percent last year and 3 percent average. Conditions rated 54 percent good to excellent, 39 percent fair, and 7 percent poor to very poor. Sorghum conditions rated 54 percent good to excellent 39 percent fair and 7 percent poor to very poor. Cotton planted reached 96 percent, up 4 points from the previous week but down 3 points from the 5-year average. Cotton conditions rated 44 percent good to excellent, 34 percent fair and 22 percent poor to very poor.
