On Tuesdays, Senior Farm and Ranch Broadcaster, Ron Hays, visits with Ben Hale of Western Livestock Auctions as he talks about the latest in the markets and more. Established in 1995, Western has grown into a multi-generational family-owned and operated business and stands as a symbol of tradition, excellence, and a deep-rooted passion for the cattle industry. Western Livestock Auctions are located in Oklahoma City, Woodward, and Comanche.
Hale said, “Some cattle that are real high-end, we’re still blowing the top out of it. We had some type 725-weight steers bring $0.84/lb. yesterday, and a set of 530-weight steers bring $3.56/lb., so it when the quality hits, it blows it out, but it’s still a really, strong market on all classes, really.”
He said expects cooling temperatures to help the numbers stay strong at the upcoming Comanche and Woodward sales this week.
Hale can be contacted at 940-631-2333.
