The Gates are Ready to Swing Open for the 2nd Annual Cattlemen's Congress in OKC
|
Our third Significant Story of 2021 is the rise of what has already become the largest cattle show in the world- Cattlemen's Congress.
The numbers are impressive- year one and now year two have both resulted in over 9,000 cattle entered each year- 24 Beef Breeds will be on the grounds January first through the sixteenth with 20 Purebred Cattle Sales planned.
Over 2,500 exhibitors will be leading their animals into the show rings- and along the way participants and visitors that come to the Oklahoma City Fairgrounds can shop a world class Trade Show.
Cattlemen's Congress Executive Vice President Bray Haven says “The Inaugural year was a resounding success and we are excited to welcome everyone back for the 2nd Annual Cattlemen’s Congress."
I believe that Cattlemen's Congress deserves to be saluted as a Significant Story of 2021- as the first show in January of this year was such a success that beef cattle breeders and their breed associations demanded that the show continue with a second edition in 2022. The Congress is well on its way to wrestling away the calendar position that has been reserved for the National Western Stock Show in January.
The 2022 show numbers in Oklahoma City will dwarf the numbers of beef cattle that will be taken to be shown in the mile high city of Denver. If 2022 is the success that the major breeds and the organizers expect- Oklahoma City will cement their spot as a major purebred cattle show venue- which will bring tens of millions of dollars of economic value to the city and the state for years to come.
A cattle show run by cattle people is what the Congress is all about- and that has captured the fancy of purebred producers across the country.
Today's email is unique as we are focusing exclusively on the Cattlemen's Congress.
Enjoy!
