All Things ACRE- Have Your Proved Yields to USDA Yet?Wed, 26 May 2010 6:15:04 CDT
The countdown to signing up for the 2010 Farm Programs continue- and today we have a detailed look at ACRE as we talk with Rodney Jones, OSU Area Ag Economist about this farm program option that many wheat farmers signed up for in 2009. Once you sign up for ACRE- you are in through the life of the current farm law- however, you still have to sign up each year to stay in good graces with USDA. Signup deadline for either the tradiitonal DCP or for ACRE is June 1, 2010. Get with your local FSA office immediately to get this done!
Our conversation you can hear by clicking on the Listen Bar below is about the 2009 decision that farmers had in signing up for ACRE- how payments are being calculated- why its important to prove up your farm yields to maximize payments from ACRE if you did sign up for the 2009 crop year(deadline to do that is June first as well!) and a look at 2010 and if ACRE makes sense this year or not.
