Feeder Cattle Narrative Report for 02/02/2015

Estimated Receipts: 4,300     Last Monday: 7,968     Year Ago Monday: 3,394

Compared to last week: Feeder steers weighing under 800 lbs opened mostly 10.00 to 15.00 higher. Feeder steers weighing over 800 lbs steady to 1.00 higher. Feeder heifers are trading 4.00 to 6.00 higher. Steer and heifer calves are opening sharply higher on a light test. Some much needed rain fell over the region this weekend, which will help lower fire dangers and give a boost to the wheat crop.

Feeder Steers: Medium and Large 1: Calves: 550-600 lbs 255.00-260.00; Yearlings: pkg 625 lbs 246.00; 650-700 lbs 216.50-232.00; 700-800 lbs 210.75-218.50; 825-900 lbs 186.50-197.00; 940-955 lbs 184.50-191.00.

Feeder Heifers: Medium and Large 1: Calves: 450-475 lbs 250.00-268.00; pkg 585 lbs 220.00; Yearlings: 600-650 lbs 221.00-224.00; load 695 lbs 194.50; 700-750 lbs 189.50-195.50; 775-800 lbs 183.75-187.00; 800-900 lbs 179.50-184.50; few 905 lbs 180.50.
