Compared to the last test 2 weeks ago: Feeder cattle and calves opening
10.00-20.00 higher. Early demand moderate to good. Cattle futures rose
sharply over the break, however have opened lower today. Cattle buyers
a little uneasy as the market has yet to stabilize. Early quality average
to attractive. Supply includes some feeder cattle off wheat pasture.
Feeder Steers: Medium and Large 1: Calves: 400-450 lbs 218.50-229.00;
450-475 lbs 213.00-214.50; 500-525 lbs 201.00-207.50; 575-600 lbs 177.00-
186.00; 600-640 lbs 158.00-167.00; Yearlings: 600-700 lbs 117.50-177.00;
700-750 lbs 163.00-171.50; few 830-865 lbs 158.00-159.00.
Feeder Heifers: Medium and Large 1: Calves: few 425-435 lbs 186.00;
450-500 lbs 173.00-184.00; 500-600 lbs 166.50-173.00, 565 lbs fleshy
160.00; 625 lbs 155.50; Yearlings: 645-655 lbs 162.00-164.00; lot 700 lbs
156.00; few 800-875 lbs 142.50-145.50.
