Feeder Cattle Narrative Report for 01/04/2016

Compared to the last test 2 weeks ago: Feeder cattle and calves
10.00-20.00 higher, many 15.00-20.00 higher. Demand good but quality
average to many attractive. Cattle futures rose sharply over the break,
along with live cattle and boxed beef prices. Demand is especially good
for those heavier weight steers and heifers that could still finish in
April. Supply includes some feeder cattle off wheat pasture.

   
Feeder Steers: Medium and Large 1: Calves: 385 lbs value added 231.00-
243.50, 385 lbs 234.00; 400-450 lbs 218.50-229.00; 450-475 lbs 213.00-
214.50, value added 222.00-225.00; 500-530 lbs 201.00-207.50, 535 lbs
fleshy 192.50; 545 lbs value added 196.00; 550-600 lbs 177.00-188.00,
value added 182.50-192.00; 600-675 lbs 158.00-172.00; Yearlings: 600-700 lbs
171.50-180.75, value added 177.50-183.25; 700-750 lbs 164.50-174.00, 740 lbs
fleshy 163.00; 750-800 lbs 165.50-169.00; 725-800 lbs value added
