Feeder Cattle Narrative Report for 01/25/2016

Actual Receipts: 9,217    Last Monday: 7,803   Year Ago Monday: 7,968

   Compared to last week: Feeder steers and heifers 3.00-6.00 higher. Demand moderate to good and improved from previous weeks. Demand especially for steers over 900 lbs. Steer and heifer calves lightly tested and few sales 5.00-10.00 higher. Quality average to attractive with several light fleshed cattle included. An improvement of the weather as well as a positive move of the cattle futures has encouraged producers to market cattle this week. Supply included 70 percent over 600 lbs; 35 percent heifers.
