Free Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) Training Offered Through April 15
Wed, 03 Feb 2016 16:42:01 CST
More cattle producers from across the country are getting training on the best cattle management practices available today. The Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) program has gained fresh momentum especially in offering free certification through sponsorship from Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica, Inc. (BIVI). National Cattlemen's Beef Association's BQA Associate Director Chase DeCoite said this is a great partnership that allows NCBA to extend the great benefits of BQA to more beef and dairy producers in offering online training and continuing education within the cattle industry.
BQA offers training to cattle producers in person, as well as through online training. For those producers that have a busy schedule, DeCoite said this is an option for them to continue their commitment to BQA and refresh their knowledge of BQA practices.
If cattle producers went through the BQA program in the past, DeCoite said there are benefits to retaking the course. He said BQA certification requires producers retake the course every two to three years. Producers have until April 15, 2016 to take advantage of the free BQA certification.
Because today's consumers want to know where their food comes from, DeCoite said the BQA story is one that consumers trust and it makes beef producers even better at what they are doing. He said it allows producers to look at their operation to recognize what's right, build on those practices and share that story with consumers, knowing that it's built on a solid foundation of BQA.
To register for BQA training, go to bqa.org and click on certifications, select your state and the website will walk you through the process.
