Feeder Cattle Auction for 02/22/16

Compared to last week, steers under 600 lbs steady to 3.00 higher, over 600 lbs 1.00 to 4.00 higher, heifers under 600 lbs steady, except under 350 lbs sold with a sharply higher undertone, over 600 lbs steady to 3.00 higher. Demand good, supply moderate to heavy. The USDA Cattle On Feed report was considered neutral with 99% On Feed, 99% Replacements and 98% Marketed. Record high temperatures across the Ozarks, but a change to more normal February weather is expected this week. The feeder supply included 53 percent steers, 41 percent heifers, 07 percent bulls, with 48 percent over 600 lbs.
