Feeder Cattle Narrative Report for 02/29/2016

Actual Receipts: 9,573   Last Monday: 7,919   Year Ago Monday: 1,211

   Compared to last week: Feeder steers and steer calves steady to 2.00 higher. Feeder heifers 3.00-6.00 higher. Heifer calves 2.00-4.00 higher. Demand good for all classes. Quality average to attractive. Some cattle in thin conditions but not as many as last week. Many fleshycattle coming off of wheat pasture. Storms expected to move across thestate overnight and this is prompting many full weigh-ups. Once again, good movement of slaughter cattle last week as prices were 3.00 higher. Supply included 78 percent over 600 lbs; 36 percent heifers.
