Cheaper Commodity Prices Catch Up with Milo After 2015 Saw Sorghum at a Premium Over Corn- Ron Hays Goes One on One with Tim Lust of NSP From the 2016 Commodity Classic in New Orleans- Radio Oklahoma Network Director of Farm Programming Ron Hays talked with the Executive Director of the National Sorghum Producers, Tim Lust. Ron and Tim discussed a variety of issues that the grower organization that represents farmers raising sorghum across the country is watching on behalf of their members.

They started with a look back at one of the best and largest grain sorghum crops ever produced- the 2015 crop- and how that has laid the foundation for a lot of acres to go back into sorghum again in 2016. Tim Lust also offered where the sorghum industry stands in battling the sugar cane aphid, the status of battling EPA in an effort to keep several critical crop protection chemicals that are needed by growers of sorghum, a review of how the 2014 Farm Law has been implemented and how well grain sorghum has been treated versus other crops and a look ahead at the battle in front of sorghum producers and other farmers in areas where sorghum is raised.
