Feeder Cattle Narrative Report for 03/09/2016

Receipts: 10,179    Last Week: 12,361    Year Ago: 11,074

Compared to last week: Feeder steers sold 3.00-5.00 higher with exception of cattle over 900 lbs trading fully steady. Feeder heifers weighing under 800 lbs traded 2.00-4.00 higher; over mostly steady. Steer and heifer calves were lightly tested but a higher undertone was noted. A heavy supply of cattle coming off of wheat weighing over 650 lbs on offer today. Another strong chance of storms is expected for the remainder of the week and going into next week. Supply mostly attractive to average quality. Weigh-ups were vastly improved from over the past few weeks as cattle were in much lighter flesh and fill conditions.
