Sat, 26 Mar 2016 12:23:24 CDT
UPDATE- We have information that as of Saturday morning, the wind is down in Woods County- the ODAFF Forestry Crews remain on the scene with the hope that after today, the Oklahoma side of the Anderson Creek Fire will be taken care of.
According to Woods County farmer Joe Shirley, who is helping with accepting hay donations- they have enough hay at this time. Cash donations will be appreciated, as the restoration of ranch lands where the fire raged will be a significant cost- including the rebuilding of fences.
A relief fund has been established by the Oklahoma Cattlemen's Foundation (OCF) to help Woods County Cattlemen who have been affected by the Anderson Creek Fire.
"We are coordinating with the Woods County Cattlemen's Association and the Woods County Extension office to identify area ranchers in need," said Jeff Jaronek, OCF Coordinator.
If you would like to donate to this relief effort, you can do so by mail or online. OCF is a charitable arm of the Oklahoma Cattlemen's Association (OCA). Make checks payable to Oklahoma Cattlemen's Foundation and put "Fire Relief" in the memo line and send to P.O. Box 82395., Oklahoma City, OK 73148. To donate online, visit the OCA website by clicking here.
The Oklahoma Cattlemen's Foundation was founded in 1979 and is funded by personal contributions. The Oklahoma Cattlemen's Association exists to support and defend the state and nation's beef cattle industry. The OCA officers, board of directors and membership encourages you to join us in our advocacy efforts to ensure less government intervention, lower taxes and a better bottom line. For more information about OCA membership or activities visit www.okcattlemen.org.
