Feeder Cattle Narrative Report for 04/20/2016

Receipts: 3834    Last Week: 9587    Year Ago: 5500

   Compared to last week: Feeder steers and heifers sold 6.00-10.00 lower. Steer and heifer calves not well tested but an obvious lower undertone was noted.   Rain and thunderstorms have been the main story for the week across the state hampering livestock movement. Demand light to moderate for feeder cattle. Supply average to plain in quality. Supply included 84 percent over 600 lbs; 28 percent heifers.

   Feeder Steers: Medium and Large 1: Calves 300-325 lbs thin fleshed 218.00-222.00; 440-470 lbs 192.00-194.00; 550-600 lbs 166.00-172.00; pkg 650 lbs 140.00; Yearlings: 600-675 lbs 152.00-156.50, thin fleshed 161.00; 725-800 lbs 142.75-147.50; 800-900 lbs 132.75-144.50; 900-1000 lbs 124.50-132.50, thin fleshed 136.25pkg 1025 lbs 125.00; pkg 1145 lbs 116.00.
   Medium and Large 1-2 Calves: pkg 475-500 lbs thin fleshed 179.00-192.50; pkg 550 lbs 167.00; 635-700 lbs 152.00-158.00; 700-800 lbs 136.50-144.50, load thin fleshed 146.25; 835-900 lbsd 130.00-136.50.
   Medium and Large 2: pkg 495 lbs 179.00; pkg 665 lbs 149.00; pkg 930 lbs 123.00.

   Feeder Heifers: Medium and Large 1: Calves: 500-600 lbs 146.50-152.50; Yearlings: 625-700 lbs 141.50-142.00; 700-800 lbs 131.75-141.50; 815-880 lbs 125.00-131.00, replacement 132.00; pkg replacement 905 lb 131.00; pkg 955 lb 126.00; pkg 1045 lbs 117.00.
   Medium and Large 1-2: 400-465 lbs 156.00-159.00; 500-585 lbs 141.00-158.00; pkg 675 lbs 142.50; 770-780 lbs 131.50-134.00; pkg 850 lbs 126.50.
