Feeder Cattle Narrative Report for 04/06/2016

Receipts: 9748    Last Week: 5892    Year Ago: 5303

   Compared to last week: Feeder steers sold 3.00-5.00 lower with exception of cattle over 900 lbs trading firm. Feeder heifers 1.00-3.00 lower; however heifers over 750 lbs fully steady. Steer and heifer calves mostly 3.00-5.00 lower on a light test. Rain is much needed across the state but especially in Western Oklahoma as the wheat crop continues to rapidly deteriorate. Demand remains moderate for feeder cattle. Supply mostly attractive to average quality. Supply included 86 percent over 600 lbs; 38 percent heifers.

   Feeder Steers: Medium and Large 1: Calves 425-450 lbs 210.00-211.00, fleshy 199.00; 450-500 lbs thin fleshed 195.00-215.00; 500-535 lbs 184.00-184.00, thin fleshed 198.00; 550-600 lbs 181.00-188.00; 675-700 lbs 150.00-155.00; pkg 800 lbs 142.00; Yearlings: 600-650 lbs. 172.00-174.00; 650-700 lbs 161.00-170.00; 700-750 lbs 150.50-163.50; 750-800 lbs 150.00-153.00; 800-850 lbs 145.75-154.00; 850-900 lbs 138.50-148.75; 900-950 lbs 136.10-141.50, fleshy or full 135.00-135.50, thin fleshed 142.00; 950-1000 lbs 134.50-139.00, fleshy 132.75; 1000-1100 lbs 129.00-135.25.
