Fri, 20 May 2016 05:43:05 CDT
A farewell reception for Deputy Commissioner of the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry Blayne Arthur was held on Thursday afternoon at the State Agriculture Building in Oklahoma City. Arthur, who served with State Commissioners Terry Peach and Jim Reese, is leaving ODAFF as she accepts the position of Executive Director of the Oklahoma 4-H Foundation.
Arthur told Radio Oklahoma Ag Network Farm Director Ron Hays that she is grateful to both Peach and Reese for the opportunities they gave her at the Department. Arthur often served as a spokesperson for the Department. At the reception, Roy Lee Lindsay of the Oklahoma Pork Council spoke on behalf of the agricultural community and told the gathering that when he saw Blayne Arthur speaking to the media and the public about an issue- he was confident that Oklahoma agriculture was being well represented.
After the short presentation, Hays and Arthur talked about her time at ODAFF- and what's ahead for her at the Oklahoma 4-H Foundation. You can hear those comments by clicking on the LISTEN BAR below.
Hays also has posted a few pictures from the day on our FLICKR page- click here for the album of the reception.
