Feeder Cattle Narrative Report for 06/01/2016

Receipts: 6,205         Last Week: 9,224           Year Ago: 9,917

   Compared to last week: Feeder steers sold 6.00-8.00 higher. Feeder heifers traded 4.00-8.00 higher. Steer and heifer calves sold with a sharply higher undertone on limited comparable sales. Demand moderate to good for feeder cattle. Quality and conditions average to attractive. Strong storms swept across the trade area over the holiday weekend and is expected for the remainder of the week. Supply included 86 percent over 600 lbs and 32 percent heifers.

   Feeder Steers Medium and Large 1 Calves: 450-455 lbs thin fleshed 183.00-185.00; 500-525 lbs 163.00, thin fleshed 168.00-173.00; 550-600 lbs 158.50-168.50, thin fleshed 171.00; 675-700 lbs 147.00-150.00; Yearlings: 625-650 lbs 151.00-156.00; 650-675 lbs 155.00-164.50; 725-750 lbs 151.50-154.50; 775-800 lbs 143.00-146.50; 800-900 lbs 139.50-145.00; 900-950 lbs 134.25-143.00; 950-975 lbs 128.00-130.25, fancy 145.00; 1000-1100 lbs 123.00-128.75.
