Feeder Cattle Auction Report for 6/20/2016

Receipts: 3,493    Week ago:    5,465    Year ago: 4,171

    ***Mid-session and Close***

Compared to last week, steer and heifer calves 10.00 to 12.00 lower. Yearlings 5.00 to 10.00 lower. Demand and supply moderate to light. Slaughter steers and heifers traded sharply lower last week, cattle futures have continued their downward trend adding pressure to the feeder cattle trade.
***Note*** Joplin Regional Stockyards will have a Special Value Added Sale, Thursday, June 23, 2016. Expecting 6000 head.   A Special Yearling Sale will be held in conjunction with the regular feeder cattle sale on Monday, June 27, 2016. Feeder supply included 49 percent Steers, 48 percent Heifers, and 3 percent Bulls. Feeder Supply over 600 lbs was 49 percent.
