Feeder Cattle Narrative Report for 06/20/2016

Actual Receipts: 4,978   Last Monday: 9,942   Year Ago Monday: 4,690

   Compared to last week: Feeder steers and heifers 2.00-6.00 lower. Demand moderate to good for feeder cattle as cattle futures continued lower today. Steer and heifer calves lightly tested and few 10.00-15.00 lower. Summer made her presence known with temps in the 90's coupled with high humidity, heat indexes are rising well above 100. Fed cattle prices fell hard last week. Texas and Kansas sold cattle 5.00-8.00 lower than the previous week. Quality plain to average. Receipts this week totaled 81 percent over 600 lbs and 36 percent heifers.
