Feeder Cattle Auction Report for 6/13/2016

Receipts: 5,465    Week ago:    9,109    Year ago: 4,510

    ***Close***

Compared to last week, steer and heifer calves 8.00 to 12.00 lower. Yearlings 3.00 to 7.00 lower. Demand moderate to light, supply moderate. Negative pressure from the CME as Live Cattle and Feeder Cattle closed mostly limit down. Some Cattle Buyers have opted out of the market due to the hot, humid temperatures that are expected over the next few days. Cattle need plenty of water and shade and It can be difficult to transition cattle, especially fat, un-weaned calves under these conditions. Feeder supply included 58 percent Steers, 1 percent Holstein Steers, 37 percent Heifers, and 3 percent Bulls. Feeder Supply over 600 lbs was 49 percent.

Please Note:
The below USDA LPGMN price report is reflective of the majority of classes and grades of livestock offered for sale.
