Feeder Cattle Narrative Report for 06/29/2016

Receipts: 7,814         Last Week: 8,378        Year Ago: 4,051

   Compared to last week: Feeder steers sold 3.00-5.00 higher. Feeder heifers sold fully 4.00-7.00 higher. Steer and heifer calves not well tested; however demand remains good for long weaned calves, a much lower undertone was noted for unweaned fleshy calves. Demand good for feeder cattle. Quality average to attractive. Very hot and humid summer like weather has been present this week across the state and is forecasted to be worse for next week. Supply included 89 percent over 600 lbs and 42 percent heifers.

   Feeder Steers Medium and Large 1 Calves: lot 450-475 lbs 156.00-163.00; 550 lbs 155.00, fleshy 144.00; 550-600 lbs 156.00-159.00, fleshy 150.00; 600-650 lbs 138.00-142.00; few 650-675 lbs 138.00; 700-750 lbs 132.00-140.00; Yearlings: 600-650 lbs 149.00-155.50; 650-675 lbs 149.75-154.00; 700-725 lbs 144.25-150.00, thin fleshed 152.50; 750-800 lbs 144.75-149.00; 800-850 lbs 138.20-148.00; 850-900 lbs 133.25-139.00, fleshy 124.00; 900-950 lbs 132.50-137.00; 950-1000 lbs 129.00-133.00, fancy 133.80; 1000-1050 lbs 125.00-127.50, thin fleshed 131.50.
   Medium and Large 1 and 2: few 525-575 lbs 146.00-153.00; 625-675 lbs 137.00-144.50, thin fleshed 152.00; 725 lbs 143.20; 825-875 lbs 136.00, thin fleshed 136.00-141.75; 950-975 lbs 126.50, thin fleshed 136.50.

   Feeder Holstein Steers Large 3: 375 lbs 118.00; few 400 lbs 90.00.

   Feeder Bulls Medium and Large 1 Calves: few 450-475 lbs 151.00-154.00; pkg 695 lbs 125.00.
