Feeder Cattle Narrative Report for 08/10/2016

Receipts: 8,481      Last Week: 7,221      Year Ago: 3,520

   Compared to last week: Feeder steers mostly steady. Feeder heifers steady to 3.00 higher. Steer and heifer calves not well tested.   Demand good for feeder cattle. Cattle futures slightly lower but not enough to effect the market. Slaughter cattle prices held strong last week giving a boost to demand. Weather remains hot and humid but a cool front is expected to bring relief by the weekend. Feeder supply included 35 percent Heifers. Feeder Supply over 600 lbs was 86 percent.
