Feeder Cattle Auction Report for 8/1/2016

Receipts: 3,104    Week ago:    1,172    Year ago: 2,009

Compared to a light test last week, steer and heifer calves under 550 lbs 1.00 to 4.00 higher, calves over 550 lbs and yearlings 3.00 to 6.00 higher. Cattle futures sharply higher giving a boost to the trade. Demand good, supply moderate. Feeder supply included 59 percent Steers, 1 percent Holstein Steers, 34 percent Heifers, and 6 percent Bulls. Feeder Supply over 600 lbs was 59 percent.
