Feeder Cattle Auction Report for 9/19/2016

Receipts: 3,707    Week ago:    5,737    Year ago: 3,756

Compared to last week, steers and heifers sold 1.00 to 3.00 higher, spots 5.00 to 7.00 higher on weaned cattle. Cattle futures traded modestly lower to start the week but the local cash feeder market wasn't hindered by it. Trade was active throughout the day, boosted for last week's higher fat cattle market. Supply moderate. Demand moderate to good, best for true yearlings and long time weaned calves. Feeder supply included 50 percent Steers, 1 percent Holstein Steers, 36 percent Heifers, and 13 percent Bulls. Feeder Supply over 600 lbs was 39 percent.
